Space Outlaw Alice
A downloadable game for Windows
Space Outlaw Alice
Space Outlaw Alice is a retro game that brings together two different genres. The game follows the main character, the outlaw Alice, as she gets targeted by the corrupt government of the Earth Union and needs to deal with mysterious extra-dimensional monsters that appeared out of nowhere. As she runs through the stages, the player will experience a classic platform action with a lot of jumping and shooting. However, when the time comes to pilot Seraph, her giant robot, the game will shift to a horizontal shoot'em up with even more shooting. Space Outlaw Alice is highly inspired by the classic games of the Famicom video game console and the mecha anime genre. Its plot and characters are carefully presented through 8-bit cutscenes between the stages.
History
The year is 2378 A.D. Humanity is already expanding into space, but its
progress is being held back by the corrupt regulation of Earth Union.
In addition to the inability to rely on its own government, both Earth
and space are plagued by criminal activities and terrorist attacks.
Alice, fearless outlaw and captain of the spaceship Valiant Gear,
accepts a job to raid a military facility and gets caught up in a
situation that will determine the fate of the world. Targeted by the
Earth Union army and facing the coming of extra-dimensional creatures
that threatens to exterminate all forms of life, she and her crew will
need to make a decision. Run and mind their own business or join the
battle and help everyone?

Space Outlaw Alice has it all. With the simple, yet well designed pixel art, a very sci-fi appropriate soundtrack, and just the right amount of challenge in the gameplay, one could easily mistake this game for an old NES title. That's not easy to get right, so I give this two thumbs way up. Plus, it even has a story going on!
Great job on this, devs. I am very much looking forward to the completed work.Thank you! That means a lot to us :D it seems we're on the right track!
We have plans on releasing a revised demo with some modifications... Plus stage 2! It will be released not far in the future, stay tuned!
Not only has Space Outaw Alice got a great storyline but has excellent 8 bit graphics. I had a play and did a video and I got as far as the boss and died at which point I stopped the videos becuase I didn't want to ruin it.
I really want people to watch and think "What happens after the boss?" and encourage them to download and play Space Outlaw Alice but I am going to make a cup of tea and play it again hopefully finish the game in one sitting.
I will record the full walkthrough and if someone wants it posting then let me know.
Well done DEVS

Nice, thank you very much! I hope you can get through the first boss and see what's next :)
Thank you, It's a great game and I try to complete as many of the games I do in my videos as I can.
Good luck DEVS :)
oh no. The game crashes for me with an error "Cannot find ultimatefullscreen.mfx!" and i've tried all 4 sreen options. I am playing with dual monitors though my second monitor is a 32 inch TV.
If you need anything else then please let me know.
thanks

Omg, that is weird. I'll look into it as soon as possible!
Can you give me more info about your specs and a screenshot of the error? What OS are you using?
Sorry for taking so a day to get back to you.
My Spec ...... I've got it working.
What i've done is to open the location and then create an empty ultimatefullscreen.mfx, I then copied this into the data folder.
I then realised that there are 2 exe files, one in the root and one in the data folder so i've ran both exe's and the game now runs BUT it only fails when I click the "Launch" button in the itch.io app
I'm pleased it's now working but it's strange that the "Launch" button should cause it to crash. I wonder if it's an issue with the path's?
If you want to remotely log onto my box via teamviewer or if there is anything else I can do then PM me. I'm really not worried about this rigging getting corrupted as it's purely for gaming. There's no personal stuff on it.
I'm going to make a video.

There seems to be a problem when running the game through the itch.io app. Somehow it isn't recognizing the extension files embedded in the exe file. I'll try to find a solution, but for now you can run it from the local folder of the game or downloading it from the page.
Thank you for the patience. Looking forward to your video!
Hello. I believe we managed to fix the issue. Update the game in the app to download the newer version. It should work now.
Got the same problem just today (and same workaround).
Hello, I'm sorry for taking so long to answer you.
That is really weird, I thought the problem was solved for good. I'm gonna run some more tests here and reply to you again when I find a solution.
It seems Clickteam Fusion, Itch app and a launcher file don't mix well :(
We updated the game and now the app launches the game directly. The launcher, in case you guys need to configure any settings or buttons, is still available inside the local files.
This is a temporary fix. We'll incorporate an in-game configuration screen in later releases.
That was pretty action packed and love the graphics used in this game, I look forward to what will happen in the full version, please keep me updated with this game. 5/5.
